Safe Segregation: The First Step in Infection Control
Improper disposal of hospital waste poses a severe infection risk to patients, staff, and the community. SR One Roof Solutions provides comprehensive Biomedical Waste (BMW) management infrastructure planning, ensuring your hospital strictly adheres to the Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016 and Pollution Control Board (PCB) guidelines.
Segregation Infrastructure (Color Coding)
We design and set up waste utility rooms and corridor stations with the mandatory color-coded system to ensure segregation happens at the source:
- Yellow Infectious Waste: Human anatomical waste, soiled waste (bandages), and expired medicines.
- Red Recyclable Contaminated Waste: Plastic waste such as tubing, bottles, IV sets, and syringes (without needles).
- White Sharps (Translucent): Needles, syringes with fixed needles, scalpels, and blades.
- Blue Glassware: Broken or discarded glass, vials, and ampoules.
Central Storage & Transport Planning
A compliant hospital must have a designated Central Waste Storage Area. We design these spaces to be:
- Tiled & Washable: To allow for daily cleaning and disinfection.
- Ventilated & Secured: Preventing unauthorized access and odor accumulation.
- Route Planning: Establishing internal routes for waste trolleys to minimize cross-contamination with patient traffic and food trolleys.
Regulatory Compliance Support
Beyond physical infrastructure, we assist hospitals in the documentation process required to obtain Authorization from the State Pollution Control Board. We also provide training for housekeeping staff on handling protocols and the use of PPE.
